The Holy Scriptures
We teach that the Bible (all 66 books) is God’s inspired revelation. It is inerrant and authoritative on every subject it addresses (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
The Godhead
We teach that there is only one God. He eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19).
The Person and Work of Christ
We teach that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, entered the human race by becoming fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:35). His death on the cross was sacrificial and substitutionary. This once-and-for-all atoning sacrifice was sufficient to accomplish the salvation of all who trust in Him. The proof of its sufficiency is found in Christ’s resurrection from the dead. Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven awaiting His Second Coming (Romans 3:24-25, 4:25; Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 1:3, 9:28).
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We teach that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (John 16:8-11; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14).
Man
We teach that mankind was created in the image of God. He was created free of sin and made to glorify God, enjoy God, and rule over the earth within the will of God (Genesis 1:26-2:25).
In Adam’s disobedience, the human race fell from its created state, inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God, incurred the wrath of God, and became incapable of changing his position. Thus all men (except Jesus who was not born of a man) are sinners by nature, by choice, and by Divine declaration (Romans 3:10-23, 5:10-12, 6:23).
Salvation
We teach that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace alone and received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19).
We teach that justification before God is an instantaneous act of God (not a process) by which He declares righteous those who, through faith in Christ, repent of their sins and confess Him as Lord. This righteousness is apart from any virtue or work of man and involves the imputation of our sins to Christ and the imputation (not infusion) of Christ’s righteousness to us (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9-10; Col 2:14).
Sanctification
We teach that every saved person is set apart unto God by justification and is therefore declared to be holy. This sanctification is positional and instantaneous and is not to be confused with progressive sanctification (Acts 20:32; 1 Corinthians 1:2, 30, 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 2:11, 3:1, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:2). Progressive sanctification is the daily work of the Holy Spirit, by which He conforms the life of the believer to match the holy position which the believer has obtained through justification. Through obedience to the Word of God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit, the believer is both responsible and able to live a life of increasing holiness in conformity to the will of God (John 17:17; Romans 6:1-22).
The Eternal Security of the Believer
We teach that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:31-39).
Spiritual Gifts
We teach that God has uniquely gifted every believer for the common good of the church. We also teach that sign-gifts and revelation-gifts are no longer in operation today (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 13:8-12; Revelation 22:18-19).
The Church
We teach that the Church is a spiritual organism composed of all born-again persons of the present age (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
We teach that the local church is autonomous from any external authority and is to be governed by qualified spiritual men (Acts 13:1-4; 1 Timothy 3:1-5; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
The Second Advent of Christ
We teach a personal, imminent, pre-tribulation, and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed. At His return to earth, He will established His millennial kingdom (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9).
The Eternal State
We teach in the bodily resurrection of all men: the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29, 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13).
